Why use an Independent Inventory Company?
As an independent inventory company, there is no bias towards agent, landlord or tenant. A report produced by an Independent Inventory company can therefore be relied on to be an accurate representation of fact. The same does not hold true for a report produced by any other party that is party to a tenancy agreement. We produce documents in house – why should we take on an external provider?
The answer to this depends partly on what you, as a Letting Agent, want from an inventory. If you see these purely in terms of an income stream, produced at as low a cost as possible and charged on to the landlord, then the likelihood is that the resulting documents will be of relatively poor quality and will not fulfil the need of your customers when called upon to do so. However, if you spend the time and effort needed to produce a quality product, it is likely that the actual cost to you will in fact be greater than our charges. We are specialist providers, so experience enables us to reduce our costs to a minimum. This is aided by specially written software that enables us to reduce the time taken to prepare an inventory to the minimum. To summarise, for a quality, accurate document produced in a minimum timeframe and at low cost, it is unlikely that in house costs are lower. Use your sales and marketing people to let properties and leave the Inventory business to the experts!
